POLICE investigating a series of burglaries in Culcheth and Winwick are warning people to be on the alert.
A number of break-ins have been reported in the past two weeks.
Jewellery, electrical goods and plasma screen televisions are the main target.
Phil Buckley, crime reduction advisor for Cheshire Police, said: "These crimes have been in the late afternoon or evening when the houses were unoccupied.
"The criminals would have needed transport to remove the stolen goods so if anyone saw any unfamiliar vehicles about or anyone behaving suspiciously, we'd like to hear from them.
"We'd also ask anyone in that area who sees any suspicious activity in the next few days or weeks to give us a call."
He added: "If you have a plasma screen television, be aware that these are popular items on the stolen property market. If it's easily visible from a window, it's an open invitation to anyone prowling around outside."
If you have any information, call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
