THREE tiny puppies who were found 'abandoned' in a shoe box have been taken in to be cared for by Warrington Animal Welfare.

The trio were discovered in the Garston area of Liverpool, the charity reported on Saturday evening.

And an appeal has been made for any information the public may know about the abandoned puppies, suspected to be a cross breed of Shih Tzu.

A spokesperson for Warrington Animal Welfare said: "Last night we told you about the three tiny puppies (possibly Shih Tzu X) found in a shoebox in the Garston area of Liverpool.

"They were seen by a vet and now in the care of WAW and are doing amazingly well."

The charity added that since settling in the three puppies are now 'content and peaceful'.

An appeal has also been made for puppy food which has been added to the WAW Amazon Wishlist to help care for the new arrivals until the find their forever homes.
