WARRINGTON is one of the best places in the UK for a relaxing walk, according to a study.

The town was ranked ninth on a list, with its many parks and green spaces, such as Walton Hall and Gardens and Sankey Valley Park, coming into play.

The study, conducted by Injury Claims, analysed more than 200,000 reviews of popular parks across 73 major UK cities and towns.

Areas were then ranked on the percentage of Tripadsvisor words associated with relaxation, including relaxing, calm, peaceful, and tranquil.

They were each given an overall index score, with Warrington achieving one of 14.71 per cent.

A spokesperson for Injury Claims said: “While often overshadowed by its larger neighbours, Warrington offers its unique charm for those seeking a peaceful escape.”

At the top of the list was Hereford with a relaxing walks index score of 28.88 per cent.

It was followed by Bristol at 23.72 per cent and Lincoln with 21.97 per cent.

At the bottom of the list was Kingston upon Hull with an overall index score of 3.26 per cent.
