A WARRINGTON primary school was awarded the highest grading by Ofsted in its most recent inspection.
The head teacher of Sacred Heart primary spoke of her delight after the school was labelled ‘outstanding’ by education watchdogs.
Inspectors paid a visit to the Selby Street school on March 5 following an ungraded inspection carried out in December 2022.
And the school was graded outstanding in all four key areas which covers quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
Speaking on the outcome of the inspection, head teacher, Colleen Everett said: “The whole school community is absolutely delighted to have been graded outstanding. Whilst we do not do what we do for Ofsted, it is still absolutely fantastic that Sacred Heart has been recognised so positively.
“We are extremely proud of our school and most of all our children who literally shone, just as they always do, during the inspection.”
A whole school celebration was had by having a ‘Simply the Best Fest’ where children and staff came dressed in festival wear and enjoyed a BBQ, cake competition, singing, dancing, and a variety of activities throughout the afternoon including glitter face painting and circus skills.
The school was decorated in balloons and bunting helping to add to the party atmosphere.
Ms Everett added: “Quite rightly, the inspectors recognised the contribution of our children and families in ensuring that our core Christian values are at the heart of all we do and say.
“We were particularly pleased that inspectors acknowledged and agreed that Sacred Heart was such a unique and special place to learn and work.”
